Kobus trialled a new multilayer PE100 pipe specifically designed for trenchless technologies. Using the Kobus KPP400 Pipe Puller, an old 1″ steel gas service pipe was successfully removed between the mains and the entry to the property. At the same time, the new multilayer pipe was towed into place as the old steel pipe was removed.
To aid the installation process, the multilayer pipe was uncoiled from a handy pipe dispenser.
The inner layer of the multilayer PE100 pipe remains completely protected by the outer peelable layer. The multilayer pipe is compatible with normal electrofusion fittings.
